To start with the most important thing to have is pearls. Pearls are available in wide variety of types, colors, shapes and size. Metal used for making pearl jewelry are Platinum, gold and silver. To add some extra charm you can have decorations of gemstones or some other imitation.

Necklace and bracelets are most popular pearl jewelry. While making these necklace and bracelet; what you need is a great patience as you have string single beads. Decide if you want to tie knot between each bead or not, but it is advisable to tie knot as it prevents pearls from hitting and getting scratched. And also if string breaks you won’t loose all the pearls. Decide the number of pearls you want in a necklace. This number depends upon you are looking for necklace of what length. Most common length for necklace is 16 inch. You can have many different sized pearls from 3mm to 10mm; common sized pearls are 6mm. You can have necklace with same sized pearls or different sized pearls.

Buy pre-drilled pearls for stringing. If you are planning to make stud earrings then you can have un-drilled pearls. You make your own designs for jewelry and then paid for precious metal fabrication.

While knotting pearl necklace or bracelet this process takes time. You have to knot each pearls. It should not be too tight or too loose. Use tri cord string of suitable size for jewelry making.
