For making a set of basic earrings, you will require 2 headpins or eye pins, 2 ear wires, and pearls of your choice; at the beginning you can have simple round pearls. For making these earrings there is no need of any complicated and expensive jewelry making tools. All you need is simple round nose pliers. You can use some spacer beads; these small beads are usually unnoticeable. Spacer beads are useful as spacing between pearls. Spacing is important for overall look of earrings. You can use seed beads, pony beads, stone beads or crystal beads. Instead of head pins, you can just bend the end of regular wire in a loop to make your own eye pins.

To begin with making pearl drop earrings take one headpin, these pins have flat heads on bottom. These are available in many different sizes and thicknesses. Choose the headpin as per size of beads. Put some pearls on headpin. Here you can try different combinations of pearls with different colors, shapes and sizes. A simple drop pearl earring can be made with 2 small pearls and 2 medium sized pearls. You can add spacer beads in between row pearls.

Once you have decided about the pattern of the earring, then using round nose pliers bend the head pin. After that just bend the headpin over to complete the loop. For finishing, you can add French wire or other earring finding and your simple pearl drop earrings are ready to wear.
